Republican turnout crushed Democrats in runoff early voting

Approximately 7.02% of registered voters in Austin County cast their ballots during early voting for the March primary runoff election last week. Over 1,000 Republicans voted compared to less than 70 Democrats.

Security audit faults one campus, three earn perfect rating

A boost from the business community is needed to fund a nearly $900,000 high-tech digital scoreboard authorized by the Sealy Independent School District board for T.J. Mills Stadium, officials said.

The goal is to have students operate the display once it is in place.

In other business during the May 20 school board meeting at Sealy Junior High School, trustees reviewed a campus security audit, censured a colleague for administrative reasons and approved special-education classroom modifications.

Allens Creek Reservoir project gains momentum

Another big step forward occurred at the BRA Board of Directors meeting on May 13 with the approval of the professional services engineering contract to facilitate the development of the Allens Creek Reservoir project.

County to host public hearing on data centers
