Be advised that the city of Sealy Health Inspector has inspected the following establishments for food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and sanitary conditions: 1. Walmart (310 Overcreek Way) – 4/2/26 – 1. Bathrooms are being fixed. All coolers where the eggs are must be cleaned. All dented cans must be removed from shelves. The selves with the sugar and flour must be cleaned. The shelves with the oatmeal and cereal must be cleaned. The in-cap where the tea and lemonade are must be cleaned. Produce area must be cleaned. Re-inspection Monday 4/6/26. Grade – 79

Blinn College District expands Washington County and Austin County scholarships to cover more student expenses

Enhanced scholarships now apply to tuition, fees, housing, meals, books, and other costs The Blinn College District and the Blinn College Foundation have announced a significant enhancement to their Washington County and Austin County scholarship programs, allowing funds to be used for a broader range of student expenses beginning in fall 2026.

Alliance for College & Career student success posts 5K results

Thankful for the rain over this last weekend, the organizers of the Alliance for College & Career Success (ACCSS) 5K were even more grateful that the weather held off and was perfect for their 3rd annual event. Held on Saturday morning prior to the kick-off of the Schulenburg Sausagefest, 90 athletes registered to run/walk and support ACCSS scholarships for students participating in academic dual credit and workforce credential courses.
