Powerful Touch opens shop

Powerful Touch Massage held its ribbon cutting event last Friday, April 8, at 326 North Circle Drive in celebration of joining the Sealy Chamber of Commerce. Owner Jen Lopez has been working out of her home office but recently opened a storefront and will offer massages by appointment only in the evenings to start. Five teams punch state ticket

Sealy FFA Judging teams competed in the Area XI CDE and five groups earned top finishes to become state qualifiers. Livestock Judging, Horse Judging and Floricultural teams all finished second in their disciplines, the Meat Judging team earned third and the Milk Quality Products squad took fourth place. The Nursery and Landscape team also competed and fell just shy of a state qualification with a sixth-place finish.

Ag in the Classroom

Miss Brittany Guardia’s 4th Grade social studies classes recently participated in “field trip in a box” activities for their Ag in the Classroom unit at Faith Academy of Bellville. This unit included “cotton’s journey,” from the field to the store, and highlighted not only the growth and harvesting processes but also the various uses for cotton fiber, cotton seeds and cottonseed oil.

Lunch with Leman

State Representative Ben Leman was the featured speaker at the Sealy Chamber of Commerce’s recent governmental luncheon at the Legion Hall last Wednesday. Leman spoke about some of the legislation passed this session, as well as answered questions from local officials on Winter Storm Uri.
