In 1987, six women in association with the Sealy Ministerial Alliance started the Sealy Christian Pantry with only $60 to their name. Their mission? To feed all of those in need in Sealy and Austin County.

The Wallis KJZT Society no. 22 presented checks from junior and seniors for Feeding Families Across Texas Program Nov. 10. The group chose to split proceeds from its bake sale and funds from the KJZT State Office between Austin Co. Meals on Wheels and Wallis’ St Vincent de Paul Society.

In a heartwarming display of generosity and compassion, the Faith Academy families came together to collect over 117 Operation Christmas Child boxes, bringing joy and hope to children in need around the world.

Jessica DeBerry’s journey to the Austin County Fair queen crown was filled with genuine interactions and a focus on giving back and highlights the importance of staying true to oneself in the face of new challenges.

Sealy High School FFA members competed in a legendary livestock show and events at the 2023 Austin County Fair. Congratulations to all Sealy FFA/Jr FFA members on their dedication to be a part of this event.

Blinn College District student Colbey Thornton has received a Texas Honors Institute (THI) Scholarship. Thornton, who served as president of the Blinn College-Brenham Campus Student Government Association, received a $250 Star Scholarship at the THI held recently in Tyler.

The Sealy Fire Department paid a visit to Trinity Lutheran Preschool. Sealy firemen Captain Kevin Kramr, Robert Lying, Jacob Bocka, and Reid Brasher visited Trinity Lutheran Preschool Oct. 20, teaching the preschoolers about fire safety and how stop/drop and roll is so important when your clothes are on fire.

The Brazos B.U.D.S. had 18 members participate in the Austin County Fair Floral Competitions. They made some beautiful designs, brought home a bunch of ribbons and even three sets of buckles! The day was highlighted by: Rylea Roecker winning Grand Champion Senior Fair Cup, Sophia Vykukal and Lylah Durrett winning Grand Champion Senior Floral Design and Rylea Roecker and Paige Demny winning Reserve Champion Floral Design.
