On Oct. 25, Wallist KJZT junior and senior members cleaned and changed out flowers at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church Cemetery. This is done prior to mass being held at the cemetery for All Souls Day.

Frydek Catholic Daughters make donations

The Frydek Catholic Daughters, Court Our Lady of Faith no. 2607, recently delivered Christmas gifts to the residents of Silverlake and The Oaks Retirement Homes.
Nearly 100 gifts were given by individual CDA members of the court. Left to right are Treasurer Doris Sodolak, Mary Lou Cruz with the Retirement Homes, Regent Cathy Ondruch and St. Mary’s Children Faith Formation Director Sarah Blundell.
The Frydek Catholic Daughters also made a donation to the Sealy Christian Pantry for student’s meals during the holidays Dec. 13.
Mobile Command Center gains $25K LCRA grant

A $25,000 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority and the city of Bellville will enable Austin County to purchase a mobile command center to improve operations and better protect first responders at emergency scenes.
Focusing Families helps with holiday meals

Focusing Families wrapped up its annual Thanksgiving food drive this week for families in Austin County and surrounding counties who have been affected by domestic violence. Focusing Families is a non-profit organization based in Hempstead, that provides free services to Austin County residents.
‘Living Life Fearlessly’

Extension Education Association of Austin County, which is a direct part of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, hosted an educational program during the month of November that focused on “Living Life Fearlessly.” The program was conducted by Doris Glenewinkel of the Bleiblerville EEA Club.
