The Sealy High School football team qualified for the seven-on-seven state tournament for the first time in eight years. The Tigers will head to College Station Thursday, June 23, and compete at Veterans Park after winning first place at the Needville High School qualifying tournament May 28.
The Sealy High School Tigers basketball team traveled June 6 to Schulenburg to kick off the Boys Hoops Summer League, showing some spunk for a team that hadn’t played together since the fall. Diehard basketball fans found plenty of action as the various squads played both in the new Schulenburg High School gym and the old facility.

May 22 marked the day that Faith Academy senior graduates have long awaited. Logan Matuska welcomed the crowd of family, friends, and staff of Faith Academy to the ceremony, and Adelaide Kuespert opened with the invocation.
Summer begins June 21, but for students it started on the last day of school with an array of activities to keep them busy during the warm-weather months. The Sealy Independent School District Summer Camps give youngsters an opportunity to stay active as well as learn during their hiatus from the classroom.
Brazos High School student John Demny will spend a week of his summer, between his junior and senior year, at the American Legion Boys State program, after being selected to participate by Wallis American Legion Post #200.
Even during the off-season, the Sealy High School football team is staying on top of the game with scaled-down seven-on-seven competitions. The Tigers on Saturday, May 28, traveled to Needville to compete in a seven-on-seven passing tournament.

The school year may have ended, but for many Sealy High School athletes summer is the time to start training and conditioning for fall sports —including basketball. Summer is also when coaches and high school athletes host basketball camps to help younger, up-and-coming players learn valuable skills.
