Two members of the Austin County Emergency Medical Services have been dispatched to the Kerrville area to help with rescue efforts. AEMT Chloe Levay and Captain Justin Ward, clinical manager, in-charge paramedic, left for the Hill Country late last week to assist with rescue efforts in the region.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is reconstructing and widening I-10 in Colorado County, specifically from FM 2434 to US 90 (Alleyton Road South). The project involves expanding the existing fourlane roadway to six lanes, converting two-way frontage roads to one-way, and replacing the median with a single- slope concrete barrier.

Abbott announces $10K reward for individual connected to ICE facility ambush

AUSTIN — Governor Greg Abbott announced that the Office of the Governor’s Public Safety Office is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of Benjamin Hanil Song, who is wanted for his alleged involvement in the July 4, 2025, attack on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Detention Facility in Alvarado, Texas. During this attack, an Alvarado police officer was shot and wounded. The Texas Department of Public Safety has added Song to their 10 Most Wanted Fugitive List.
