In March of 1977, Carol Skidmore, her husband James Ronald Skidmore, and Carol’s 5-year-old son Lynn Dale Mahaffy left their home in Sealy, to visit James’ parents in Rossville, Georgia. The couple wanted to put their marriage back together. On April 9, 1977, Carol contacted her parents and told them she wasn’t sure when they would be returning. This became the last contact the family had with Carol.
