AUSTIN — Governor Greg AbbotthasappointedStacyHightower and reappointed Donald “Donnie” Lewis, Donna Montemayor, and Richard “Rick” Tisch to the Texas State Board of Pharmacy for terms set to expire Aug. 31, 2031. The board fosters the provision of quality pharmaceutical care to the citizens of Texas andregulatesthepracticeofpharmacy inaccordancewiththehighest standards of ethics, accountability, efficiency, effectiveness, andopenness.

The 66th/51st annual Bolten/ Mueller family reunion was held Sunday, Oct. 4, at the Millheim Hall with an attendance of 84. After a prayer offered by Jackie Hogan, a chicken and sausage BBQ dinner was enjoyed by all. A business meeting was conducted by President, Mark Bolten, Sr. and Treasurer/ Secretary, Doris Fuller.

Garden Club of Sealy to host Fall Plant Sale Oct. 11 The Garden Club of Sealy will have its 2nd Annual Fall Plant Sale on Oct. 11 at the American Legion Hall Parking lot from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a ribbon cutting with the Sealy Chamber at 10 a.m. Shop a mix of Fall bedding plants and shrubs, Texas natives, pollinator plants, houseplant, succulents and more grown by our members. Cakes, pies and other desserts will be available. All proceeds are used for local Sealy student scholarships.

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has named Joe Esparza as Chairman of the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), the agency announced today. Governor Abbott has also appointed Brent Connett as TWC’s new Commissioner Representing the Public, for a term set to expire on February 1, 2031.
