Austin County Commissioners Court inched closer to giving a final approval to subdivision regulations for Austin County during its April 12 regular meeting. Commissioner Bobby Rinn commented that the subdivision regulations had been approved and sent to legal.

In the April 8 edition of The Sealy News, there was incorrect information printed. In a front-page story, it was stated the Bellville Fire and Police Departments fielded teams for the annual Guns N’ Hoses Softball tournament but both the Law Enforcement and Fire/EMS teams included repre sentatives from other Austin County towns, not just Bellville. In sports, it was stated the Sealy boys’ soccer team advanced to the regional quarterfinals while it was actually the regional semifinal round of the playoff tournament. Family Land Heritage Program Workshop, April 15 Applications can now be made for the annual Family Land Heritage Program sponsored by the Texas Department of Agriculture. The Program honors families in Texas whose property has been agriculturally productive and owned by family members for 100, 150, or 200 years.

The Austin County Grand Jury returned indictments against 12 people in the March 31 session. Those indicted include: Frankie Anderson, assault of a pregnant person.
