Stop by and pick up a poppy in memory of our fallen heroes. The Sealy American Legion Ladies Auxiliary will distribute poppies at Sealy Wal-Mart, Tractor Supply Co., Tony’s Restaurant, Prasek’s and Bill’s Grocery between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. May 28 and 29.

Join the Sealy American Legion Post #442 for their annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. May 31, with a program immediately after inside the hall, located at 1630 Meyer Street. Snacks will follow.

The local Sealy Steinhauser’s will be hosting a Virtual Flock Talk Facebook live event for all to watch! The video will inform those wondering about transitioning baby chicks to layer feed and how to beat the summer heat. There will also be a discount on all Purina Poultry feed at the Steinhauser’s store during the day.

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Queen of Angels, Wallis is hosting a chicken fried steak dinner Friday, June 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ben’s Chuck Wagon at 4104 Polak Road in Wallis. The Lions Sealy Dance Club is having a public dance on Saturday, June 5, at the Sealy American Legion Hall with Al Sulak and the Country Sounds providing the music from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Guests are always welcome.

The Austin County Peace Officers Association will host a Friday fish fry June 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:25 p.m. at the Columbus Hall at 1310 Highway 90 West in Sealy. Plates of fried fish, french fries, hush puppies, coleslaw and pinto beans will be served through the drivethru only.
