In the early morning of December, Deputy Villarreal of Austin County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 6300 block of Highway 60, near Mynarik Park in Wallis. While conducting his investigation, Deputy Villarreal developed probable cause to search the vehicle.

Bellville FFA sent five groups to the state LDE contest at Sam Houston State University last Saturday, Dec. 4, and all of them finished in the top 10 of their categories. Senior and Junior Chapter Conducting as well as Junior Creed Speaking all finished in first place, Senior Ag Quiz finished second and Junior Farm Skills finished 10th. Families drove into downtown Sealy to spread holiday spirit last weekend for the 35th annual Fantasy of Lights celebration hosted by the Sealy Community Foundation. The Fantasy of Lights was a weekendlong collage of activities ranging from a softball tournament, to live music performances, to the highly anticipated Cajun Christmas parade.

The Sealy ISD Board of Trustees approved the financial audit for fiscal year 2021 during the regular meeting Dec. 1 in the Administration Building. The board also took action on project updates and approved the multi-hazard emergency operations plan.

Shoppers from far and wide ventured out to historic Downtown Sealy last Thursday, Dec. 2, for the opportunity to complete some holiday shopping from a variety of vendors at the ninth annual Vendor Blender.

Feelings of gratitude and community were abundant in Wallis last week as locals banded together to provide Thanksgiving meals to families in need. With the help of about a dozen volunteers, the Helping Hands of Wallis successfully hosted its inaugural Thanksgiving Community Food Drive and Giveaway.
