In the early morning hours of Monday, Dec. 6, the Austin County Sheriff’s Office reported several vehicles in the Settler’s Estates subdivision were burglarized. As a result, many unsecured firearms were taken from these vehicles. Additionally, in a nearby subdivision located in the City of Sealy, at least three more vehicle burglaries were reported.
The Sealy Charter Review Commission held its final meeting last Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the W. E. Hill Community Center where it approved the final report containing five propositions it recommends for the city council to send to the ballot for the May election concerning the Home Rule Charter.
The Sealy City Council voted to extend the current development moratorium for up to an additional 180 days with an exemption for low-impact developments during the regular meeting in the W. E. Hill Community Center last Tuesday, Dec. 7
The Austin County Commissioners Court met in the county courthouse Monday, Dec. 13, to approve changes to voting districts within the county in an attempt to lower costs and move towards centralized voting locations.
Sealy Tiger Stage Company presents: “Footloose,” Dec. 9, 11, 12 The Sealy Tiger Stage Company is hosting four presentations of “Footloose” at the Thomas E.
One of the Next Level goals for this years’ Tiger Stage Company was to compete at the Texas Thespian level. During Thanksgiving break, Sealy representatives competed and Dario Picasso qualified for Nationals in monologue performance and Summer Burleson and Karrigan Berry qualified in Duet Acting. Noelle Molina, Johnny Rodriguez and McKenna Branson were all one point away from qualifying. Kade Klehm and Logan Sanders were two points away. They all did great against experienced competitors from Classes 5A and 6A at this extremely difficult event.
Brazos FFA’s Agriculture Advocacy team finished as runners up at the State LDE at Sam Houston State University last Saturday, Dec. 4. Team members Emelyn Harnage, Carson Brzozowski, Kirby Richardson and Ashlyn Davila took third from the District LDE and won second from the Area LDE to earn their spot at the state competition.
