During the month of November, numerous families in Austin County participated in the Car Seat Checkup event held in Wallis. The goal of the event was to make the community aware of the importance of our children riding safely.

Wednesday, Dec. 1, Mrs. Stallings, Mrs. Swantner and Mr. Mayfield accompanied Faith Academy second graders on a field trip to Children’s Museum Houston. It was a day filled with learning, exploration and physical activity!
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service was well represented on the 2020-2021 executive board of the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, NEAFCS. AgriLife Extension professionals accounted for three of its 13 national board members, including Dianne Gertson, AgriLife Extension family and community health agent for Fort Bend County, who recently completed her one-year term as association president.
Texas CASA recently honored State Senator Lois W. Kolkhorst (R-Brenham) with the “Big Voice for Little Texans” Award for her legislation to reform and improve residential treatment centers that house children and youth in foster care with higher needs.
The reward for Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive Justin Marquiwis Cuba, who is this month’s featured fugitive, is now $8,500 for information that leads to his arrest if tips are received during December. Cuba, 33, is wanted on charges of murder and failure to appear. All tips are guaranteed to be anonymous.
