Jhett West is top individual at Dixie National, Lane Hogan second at Fort Worth Blinn College livestock judging teams used a “divide and conquer” strategy as they won championships at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo on Friday and the Dixie National Collegiate Beef Judging Contest on Saturday.

The 2025 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) theme is '100 Years of Houston'. The HLSR is a family-friendly event that celebrates Western heritage, promotes agriculture, and supports Texas youth. And this year, like in years past, Austin County’s FFA programs have shined at the “big rodeo” event. Brazos FFA had a fantastic day at HLSR. Floriculture Team - 6th Overall. Rylea Roecker - 17th Individual, Lylah Durrett - 20th Individual, Wildlife Poster Contest: Megan Krueger - 6th Place, earning $600, shoutout to the Brazos FFA Wool (5th place team, McKenna Stroud - 3rd overall), Vet Med, Homesite, Horse, Nursery Landscape, Floral, and Poultry teams for a successful showing at the Katy Taylor & Jordan CDE Invitational on Friday.

Abbott announces Schneider Electric Expansion in El Paso

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today announced that Schneider Electric USA, Inc. (“Schneider Electric USA”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Schneider Electric SE, will modernize and expand their electric equipment manufacturing facilities on their El Paso campus. The multi-million-dollar project will create 300 new jobs. A Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grant of $1.5 million has been extended to Schneider Electric USA.
