Civic Chorale starting rehearsals The Austin County Civic Chorale has begun rehearsals for their 40th season Spring performance in April. Interested singers are encouraged to attend. No audition is required. The Chorale meets on Thursdays from 6:30-8 p.m. at Faith Academy, in the new elementary building #7. County releases Walk Across Texas 4th week mileage report

Austin County families are rocking and rolling! As the fourth week of Walk Across Texas ends, we’re excited to highlight the incredible dedication and effort from our participants. So far, families have walked a combined total of 34,171 miles — an impressive accomplishment! Keep in mind this is just a preliminary snapshot, as spring break affected reporting. A comprehensive update with each campus’s progress will be provided in the 6th week summary.

Sealy Police Sergeant John Fullen read to the Selman Elementary students last week for Read Across America Week. The theme of this year’s Read Across America is a Nation of Readers. Read Across America, launched by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1998, is an annual event designed to promote a love of reading among children and young adults. It takes place every year on March 2, in honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday, though celebrations often extend throughout the week.
