The Lions Sealy Dance Club will be holding a dance Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Sealy American Legion Hall with Al Sulak and the Country Sounds providing the music from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Guests are always welcome.

At 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, gather around the flagpole at your local police or fire station to pray for the survivors of the 9/11 attacks and also for local first responders. The pledge of allegiance will also be recited to the U.S. flag.

Decorate your favorite vehicle in red, white and blue and come downtown for family fun. Organized by the Shops of Downtown Sealy, the event runs from 2-8 p.m. For more information, visit mainstreet.sealyedc.com/ event.

An Evening on the Deck of the museum at the Sealy Historical Park located at 211 East Main will be held on September 12 from 5-7 p.m. Hear storyteller Sheila Phillips and enjoy live music and dancing. Make plans to join the Friends of the San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site at their annual meeting on Monday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. The meeting will take place at the San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site at 220 2nd Street, (2nd Street at FM 1458 near the Brazos River bridge) and will include a behind-thescenes look at the outdoor Villa de Austin exhibit opening later this year.
