Georgian National extradited from Moldova to face charges for soliciting hate crimes, planning mass Casualty attack in New York City

Georgian national Michail Chkhikvishvili, also known as Mishka, Michael, Commander Butcher, and Butcher, 21, of Tbilisi, was extradited to the United States from Moldova on May 22, and will be arraigned in federal court in Brooklyn today. Chkhikvishvili was arrested in Chiıinıu, Moldova, in July 2024 in connection with a four-count indictment returned in the Eastern District of New York charging him with soliciting hate crimes and acts of mass violence in New York City.

ACRTA awards two scholarships

The Austin County Retired Teachers Association, a local unit of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, is awarding two scholarships to local Bellville High School graduates this year. The scholarships were initiated in 2015 when the association began supporting local students interested in pursuing the teaching profession.

Texas DPS hosts inaugural National Top Trooper competition

AUSTIN – This week, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) hosted the inaugural National Top Trooper Competition at the DPS Tactical Training Facility in Florence. Designed to showcase the highest levels of law enforcement excellence, the event brought together Top Troopers from across the country for a week of collaboration, competition and training. Male Trooper Michael Brown from Oklahoma Highway Patrol and female Trooper Lindsey Rumenapp from New York State Police earned the title of 2025 National Top Troopers, receiving a custom- made belt buckle from Andrews, Texas, and bragging rights for the next year.

DPS launches statewide patrols to enforce seat belt use and curb distracted driving for Memorial Day

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is increasing patrols statewide as part of its annual All-American enforcement campaign ahead of the Memorial Day Holiday. From May 12 through May 26, the Texas Highway Patrol (THP) will focus on enforcing seat belt laws and promoting safe driving behaviors to reduce crashes and save lives.

Over the last few weeks, we have presented the Gospel accounts of the resurrection of Jesus as nothing less than ancient historical documents, written within the living memories of the eyewitnesses, by those eyewitnesses, or their close associates. Nonetheless, resurrection skeptic and critic Bart Ehrman has often been quoted saying that the Gospel accounts were corrupted through a long string of oral transmissions by multiple people over decades of time, resulting in a distorted and false story ultimately being recorded in the Gospel accounts. Even so, as noted in the previous articles, Ehrman’s assertions are deceptive and inaccurate. Nevertheless, the Gospels are not the only source of evidence for what happened to Jesus after the crucifixion. To be sure, there is an older source that reaches back nearly to the event itself. During the mid-first century, Paul of Tarsus wrote a letter to a church at Corinth. In this ancient historical document, Paul wrote something exciting.
