With a 2-0 win over Bellville Monday night at home, the Sealy Tiger soccer team not only avenged the first-round loss to the Brahmas but also won the tiebreaker with their rivals and secured the second seed from District 20-4A going into the playoffs.

The Texas Sports Writers Association recently announced its allstate list and this year, it had four Sealy Tigers recognized. Senior Kade Killough was named to the third-team all-state while classmates Tyler Hennessey and Draper Parker, as well as sophomore D’vonne Hmielewski, were allstate honorable mentions.

Steel Rain Construction & Logistics and Black Wolf Construction & Remodeling recently completed work at the Sealy High School Softball Stadium and the Sealy Softball Program wants to say thank you for their donation and for building us a shed for our equipment. COLE McNANNA

The Sealy Tiger tennis team hosted a quad meet last week and competed against Brazos, Louise and Rice after another host match was rained out the week prior. Head coach Joni Baxley said this year’s team has navigated through the COVID-19 protocols but has been glad to just be able to play after not fielding a spring team before things were shut down at the onset of the pandemic.

Tuesday, March 2, the Sealy Lady Tiger golf team took on the Sand Hill Farm Golf Course for a tournament hosted by Waller High School and came away with a solid finish. Head coach Lonnie Goad said Linsey Dziadek performed well and freshman Kaylie Dabney did well in her first varsity golf action.

The Sealy Tiger baseball team returned to Aubrey “Mutt” Stuessel Stadium last Tuesday night and fell to former district foe Needville 6-4 exactly one year since its last home game. Despite coming up on the short end of the scoreboard, head coach Dane Bennett said he was pleased with the Tigers’ effort throughout the competitive contest but most of all enjoyed being back at the team’s home stadium.
