City of Sealy utility customers might be in for quite a shock when they receive their monthly bill in March due to high gas service during Winter Storm Uri in mid-February but city officials are preparing options for customers to pay out the projected high bills.

The state’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout plan took the next step on Monday of this week and advanced to Phase 1C to make those who are at least 50 years old eligible for vaccination. Austin County Judge Tim Lapham said as of the beginning of the week, the county had 6483 residents that had received at least one dose of vaccine and 2813 that were considered fully vaccinated.

The Sealy High School Band hosted their UIL Solo and Ensemble competition the last weekend of February and had a host of members qualify for the state competition. Five groups competed in the 2nd Division between three solos and two ensembles and 22 groups participated in the 1st Division between 18 solos and four ensembles.
