Historical Society to meet Feb. 22

On Feb. 22 at 7 p.m., the Sealy Area Historical Society will hold a meeting at the Sealy Historical Park Museum at 211 East Main St.

The public is invited to hear Charlie Wade present about Broomtown, the Sealy Broom Factory, and the Engelking family.

Refreshments will be served.

Garden Club to meet Feb. 22

Everybody loves an underdog comeback story, don’t they? For the first time since early January, Sealy won two games in row, sealing a 3-1 victory against Hempstead Feb. 14 followed by a tense penalty shootout victory against Harmony School of Discovery Feb. 17.

It’s not all fun and games if there’s no game to even play in the first place.

NEEDVILLE — Sealy’s promising girls basketball season came to a crushing halt Feb. 13 as Bay City’s Khylee Perry scored 28 and Alizia Gonzales added 13 to pace the Lady Blackcats past Sealy 50-37.

Early voting will begin Feb. 20 in the Austin County election primaries.
