AUSTIN — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton released an advisory clarifying the requirements under state law for school districts to prepare for potential threats to student safety. Texas families equipped with knowledge of the law are more empowered to hold districts accountable for implementing and following the policies essential to keeping children safe at school.

The Brazos Cougarettes hit the rack last Saturday for their Regional Powerlifting Meet in Dublin. They have done a phenomenal job all season competing with numerous individual/ team victories and showing growth throughout the season Brazos junior Lily Bertrand earned a spot in the THSWPA State meet.

The Sealy Lady Tiger Golf Team finished in 3rd place during a tournament last week. The team consists of Kaylie and Kai Dabney, Grace Eschenburg and Carly Allen.

The Tigers will be facing the Mickey Leland College Preparatory Academy for Young Men Knights in the first round of playoffs on Tuesday, March 26 after securing a berth following their 5-3 home win against the Hempstead Bobcats on March 8.

The Brazos Cougar Powerlifting team competed at the Regional meet with five punching their tickets for the state meet in Abilene. The results of the team members were Sergio Martinez - 2nd place, Hunter Bertrand - 7th place, Carson Grobe – Alternate, Gael Duran – SC, Ryan Meyer – Alternate, Rafael Almaraz - 4th place / Qualifying Total, Gauge McCain - 11th place, Kasey Zientek - 1st place / Regional Champion, Seth Wherry - 6th place / Qualifying Total and Chris Escobedo - 2nd place.
