State releases school safety guidance, OAG training for school officers

AUSTIN — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton released an advisory clarifying the requirements under state law for school districts to prepare for potential threats to student safety. Texas families equipped with knowledge of the law are more empowered to hold districts accountable for implementing and following the policies essential to keeping children safe at school.

Brazos powerlifters heading to state

The Brazos Cougar Powerlifting team competed at the Regional meet with five punching their tickets for the state meet in Abilene. The results of the team members were Sergio Martinez - 2nd place, Hunter Bertrand - 7th place, Carson Grobe – Alternate, Gael Duran – SC, Ryan Meyer – Alternate, Rafael Almaraz - 4th place / Qualifying Total, Gauge McCain - 11th place, Kasey Zientek - 1st place / Regional Champion, Seth Wherry - 6th place / Qualifying Total and Chris Escobedo - 2nd place.
