Brazos junior pitcher Taylor Brzozowski’s comeback from Chiari Malformation – a cerebellum issue that required surgery – culminated in her verbal commitment to play softball for Concordia College in February.

At its regular board meeting Feb. 24, the Brazos ISD Board of Trustees discussed the City of Wallis’ possible annexation of Austin County property owned by the district located along Educator Lane.

The University Interscholastic League announced its biennial district realignment for football, volleyball and basketball Thursday morning, Feb. 3.

Sealy and Bellville’s football district remained the same with the addition of West Columbia and the volleyball and basketball districts also remained intact with the addition of Needville. Both were opponents of Sealy’s two alignments ago.

The Brazos powerlifting teams competed in the Swamp Strength Invitational last Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Rice Consolidated High School and came away with two more lifters of the meet awards, a third-place team finish for the Cougarettes and a second-place team finish for the Cougars.

It was a record-setting year for Brazos’ state representatives where Halie Gonzalez medaled in the state powerlifting meet and Esmeralda Garcia set a school-record time in the 3200-meter run on the spring track circuit then followed that up with the school’s best individual finish at the cross country state championship.
