The Blinn College football team welcomed service members from the Marine Corps onto the Blinn-Brenham campus Wednesday for a morning of military-style workouts. The Marines, from the College Station Marine Corps Recruiting Station (College Station, Texas) in association with 8th Marine Corps District (Fort Worth, Texas), led three one-hour works for the Buccaneers with a focus on providing a high-intensity exercise regimen and a renewed respect for the rigors of military training.

As dawn broke on the Sealy football fields Monday, July 31, the Sealy Tigers football squads took to the practice fields as two-a-days kicked into high gear. Under first-year coach Clint Finley, the Tigers will begin this new era with hopes of taking the next step in the Tigers’ playoff growth.

The Blinn College District has named sophomore men’s basketball player Alex Tsynkevich the recipient of the 2023 Dr. James H. Atkinson Cup after he maintained the highest cumulative grade point average in the athletic department.

The Sealy volleyball squad is set to begin its 2023 season with scrimmages against George Ranch and Needville on Friday and Saturday. The season is set to begin Tuesday, Aug. 8 with a home contest against Kempner.

The softball girls are pumped up as they celebrate reaching the Little League World Series.

Two Blinn College alumni organizations have presented checks to Blinn athletic programs for their help in the 2023 Clay Shootout. The annual fundraiser – Blinn’s largest – raised $113,000 this year for scholarships and athletic equipment.

Caroline Owen has been coaching in Sealy for the past five years, serving two years at the junior high and the last three at the high school. Now, the Sealy High graduate is ready to take over the Sealy volleyball program this year as its head coach.

So, what happens when you get a group of 12–14-year-old softball girls together for the first time and you set them loose on the all-star circuit? If they are as talented as the Sealy Junior Girls team, you are packing your bags and getting ready to fly out to Washington for the Little League Girls Softball World Series. This band of 10 girls have gone undefeated in earning a berth at the World Series and now will face off against their stiffest challenge on that journey.
