Bellville host volleyball camp

Body
The Bellville Brahmanettes opened up their gym doors this week to welcome in the incoming 3rd-9th graders for a volleyball camp. This camp is going to put these young athletes through a couple of drills and games to help them sharpen their skills and also get a good feel of what coaches will be expecting from them at the next level. The group of 7th-9th graders will have a close eye on them as they will have an opportunity to take what they learned at camp and apply on the court in a Brahmanette uniform this season. As for the coaches, they are excited about this camp because it allows them to meet players that are currently working in their pipeline and potentially pick up a few coaching tricks on the way. Just like athletes, coaches strive to get better every day, and they will be coming to camp looking for something new to learn also.

Austin County schools are in new college football video game

Body
Hello, everyone and welcome back to the Huddle where this week I will be talking about how cool it is that there are Austin County schools in the newest College Football video game. Sealy, Brazos, Bellville and even Faith Academy are all playable schools in the new College Football game, specifically in their “Road to Glory” game mode.

Brazos Athletics hosting strength and conditioning sessions

Body
The Brazos Cougars athletic department has been opening up their weight room from 8-9 a.m. for all 7th-12th graders looking to get stronger before the season. It lasts only an hour, but these athletes are putting in a lot of good work off their field to prepare for the season. Being strong and in shape to start the season only benefits the athlete and Brazos recognizes that and wants to help their athletes be the best they can before for their first game. The best part about these sessions is that it costs zero dollars, all athletes have to do is show up these last couple weeks of July at the Brazos High School weight room and hard their tails off.

Bellville receives national Honor

Body
The Bellville volleyball team was recently added to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Honor Roll. They join the honor roll along with teams like Cypress Ranch, Ridge Point, Stratford, Sweeny, Tomball Memorial and Willam B. Travis High School. To be considered for this team they needed to have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a 4.00point scale, 4.10 on a 5.00point scale and 82 on a 100point scale. So not only did this team make a deep and exciting run in the playoffs, but they also took care of business in the classroom to earn themselves a spot on AVCA Honor Roll which is a National Honor.
