WHARTON, TEXAS — With seven sophomores on the team, the Wharton County Junior College Pioneers are poised to have a competitive 2025 volleyball season. Head Coach Jerrick Cabrales is aiming for a conference championship or Top 3 finish in the region.

The Sealy Lady Tigers are currently playing through the tournament portion of their schedule and are playing some very quality ball clubs. The Lady Tigers matched up with Burton who always has a strong volleyball team but that’s what these tournaments are for, playing good teams to get better.

The Brazos Cougars traveled to Ganado to compete in a scrimmage before the 2025 season. Scrimmages for high school teams are very beneficial as they get a chance to learn who they are and gives new Cougars Head Coach Patrick Oliver to settle into his role even more.

The Brazos Cougars football team took the field on Monday, August 4, for their first practice of the season. The Cougars were eager and filled with excitement as they began working as a team for the first time this season.
