A former Sealy High School graduate has been listed among the students being honored by the Texas Coastal Catt leWomen 2022-23 Scholarship winners. John Owen, graduate of Sealy High School 2020 and a junior majoring in Agricultural and Applied Economics with a minor in Agricultural Leadership at Texas Tech University, has been listed among the scholarship honorees.

The fifth-ranked Blinn College women’s basketball team found itself down 9-0 quickly against South Plains College on Saturday and needed an answer quickly. Once sophomore guard Makayla Patterson provided a response with a 3-pointer, the Buccaneers continued to answer back and eventually passed their first test of 2023 with a 64-57 victory over the Texans at the Kruse Center in Brenham, Texas.

After a promising start to the season, the Sealy Tigers have dropped their first two district contests to fall to 0-2 in District 25-4A. Sealy opened district play Jan.

The Sealy Lady Tigers moved to 3-1 in District 25-4A after splitting a pair of district games last week. Sealy opened the week with a 49-32 win over Bellville but then tasted defeat for the first time in district play with a 48-21 loss to Navasota last Friday night.

Tigers looking strong as district play starts Sealy moved to 11-5 after participating in a holiday basketball tournament as the Tigers gear up for the start of District 25-4A play at home against Bellville. The game was played Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers are off to a strong start in District 25-4A with a 2-0 record after two games of district play. After opening with a 50-35 win over Wharton, the Lady Tigers returned to take out El Campo 42-32 to move to 2-0 in the district.

The Sealy Lady Tigers opened their girls soccer season with a 2-0 win over Waller Friday afternoon. “We beat Waller on their own turf,” said Sealy Head Girls Soccer Coach Syndey Jones.
