During the month of September, EEA, which is a direct part of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, conducted an educational program on the importance of hydration for seniors. This important health topic was highlighted during the TEEA State meeting held in Abilene.
The Extension Education Association (EEA) of Austin County, in partnership with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, recently distributed proceeds from its annual barbecue fundraiser to several local nonprofit organizations. In March of 1977, Carol Skidmore, her husband James Ronald Skidmore, and Carol’s 5-year-old son Lynn Dale Mahaffy left their home in Sealy, to visit James’ parents in Rossville, Georgia. The couple wanted to put their marriage back together. On April 9, 1977, Carol contacted her parents and told them she wasn’t sure when they would be returning. This became the last contact the family had with Carol.
