For the second time in recent months, the Sealy Chamber of Commerce is searching for a president and CEO for its operations. Late last year, the chamber named Erin Jackson as its new president and CEO.

AUSTIN — Governor Greg Abbott congratulated CesiumAstro on the announcement of their new, high-tech advanced manufacturing facility and global headquarters in Bee Cave, Texas. The company’s investment in Texas represents an investment over more than $500 million and the creation of more than 500 new jobs in the next five years.

Clinical laboratory LTD Holding LLC, formerly known as Labtech Diagnostics LLC (Labtech), of Anderson, South Carolina, and its founder and CEO Joseph Labash, of the United Arab Emirates, have agreed to pay at least $6.8 million to the United States to resolve False Claims Act allegations involving illegal kickbacks to doctors. With this settlement, the Department of Justice has secured over $11.5 million in civil False Claims Act settlements relating to Labtech, including recoveries from nine doctors.

“Kickbacks and false claims increase healthcare costs for all Americans and undermine the integrity of healthcare decision-making,” said Assistant Attorney General Brett A. Shumate of the Justice Department’s Civil Division. “Combatting such schemes will continue to be a priority for the Justice Department.”

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott announced that a Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund (TSIF) grant of $15.2 million has been extended to Tekscend Photomask Round Rock Inc. to expand photomask production capacity at their manufacturing facility in Round Rock. The project is expected to create 50 jobs and represents more than $223 million in capital investment.
