The Sealy Police Department is warning residents of a growing problem with the misuse of Texas license plates. A new law went into effect July 1 and this issue has been born from that law.

The Sealy High School student council will be one of many volunteers that will be spanning across cemeteries this holiday season to honor this county’s fallen heroes by participating in the Wreaths Across America event.

In a season defined by gratitude, Kate's Kans turned appreciation into action this Thanksgiving, successfully distributing complete dinner kits to 26 deserving families through its flagship 'Fifty for Fami- lies' program. The initiative, a heartfelt collaboration with the First United Methodist Church of Sealy Food Pantry, ensured that no one in Austin County went without a traditional holiday meal.

Every year, The Sealy News sponsors Angel Tree. This tree is decorated with ornaments from the Oaks and Silver Lakes Retirement Centers and residents and businesses from all over the county come to the Sealy News’ office to take the ornaments of these retired citizens and fulfill their Christmas lists.

Sealy’s beloved 39th Annual Fantasy of Lights Celebration returns Dec. 4–6, 2025, and this year, it carries a message deeper and more powerful than twinkling lights and holiday cheer. This year’s theme, “A Wishful Christmas,” was chosen in honor of six local children who are currently waiting for their wishes to be granted through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Their names may not be known to all, but their stories — and their courage — represent the heart of this community.
