David named National Merit Scholarship finalist

Tanner David, a member of Faith Academy’s Class of 2021, has been named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. More than 1.5 million juniors entered the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program and approximately 14,400 were named finalists.
Coronavirus vaccinations delayed due to weather

As a result of the winter weather that arrived earlier this week, vaccination appointments at the regional subHUB location at the Washington County Fairgrounds were delayed. In a statement posted on the City of Brenham’s Facebook page last Saturday, it said second-dose appointments that were set for Feb.

Winter storm watch announced for Southeast Texas

As of Friday afternoon, Southeast Texas is under a Winter Storm Watch from the National Weather Service from Sunday afternoon through Monday afternoon.
Preparations needed ahead of storms

A potentially historic arctic outbreak nears with likely memorable significant impacts and long-duration hazards and challenges. A major winter storm looks to impact nearly all of Texas on Monday, resulting in widespread travel disruption which has the potential to strand travelers on interstates.
Three winter storms approaching

Three winter storm complexes will move through the region, a Friday afternoon Special Weather Statement from the National Weather Service states. Areas affected include Austin and neighboring counties, among others, as well as the cities of Columbus, Sealy, Bellville, Eagle Lake, Brookshire and others.
SHS Stu Co works to help foster teens

Each year, more than 250,000 children and teenagers enter the foster care system. This year, the Sealy High School Student Council, along with other members of the Texas Association of Student Councils, have adopted helping them as their state project.
