Faith 4th Graders host Econ Fair

Miss Brittany Guardia’s 4th Grade class has been learning about economics and how they can become active and efficient participants in capitalism this school year. By engaging in The Kingdom Code, a faithbased economics curriculum that empowers students to become entrepreneurs, the students have worked since October to create business plans and design their own businesses.

Blinn College livestock judging wins HLSR title

Blinn College’s livestock judging team won top honors March 14 at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s community college division. The Buccaneers totaled 4,681 points to easily win the title at the prestigious contest.

FFA earns more ribbons

Sealy FFA representatives recently earned more recognitions from major stock shows. In addition to those photographed, Keaton Parker and Avery Henderson both landed on HLSR’s Chester Class 76 and Hunter Hinze finished on HLSR’s Crossbred Class 86.

Brazos FFA teams compete at HLSR

Brazos FFA teams continued their competition circuits at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and returned with recognition. The Wool Team registered sixth and the Livestock Team finished 211th in recent competitions.

Wallis City Council eyes water projects

During March 16’s regular meeting of the Wallis City Council, a public hearing was held regarding an intention to file an application with USDA Rural Development. As part of the project, water improvements will be implemented throughout the city’s service area.

CORRECTION

In the March 17 edition of The Sealy News, an incorrect image ran with the San Felipe Town Council story. The map that outlined the Wildcat Estates subdivision which was annexed into the Town of San Felipe incorrectly identified the plat. It was not the large rectangular shape that straddled the city limits of Sealy and San Felipe but it was the skinnier rectangle to the north of that plat which was approved to be annexed into San Felipe. We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused.
