Sealy City Council approves bond sales

The issuance and sale of bonds to cover the cost of necessary infrastructure repair and improvements within the city were approved by the Sealy City Council June 21. This process was started by the council on April 19, and legal notices of the Intent to Issue Certificates of Obligation (bonds) were published.
DPS increases enforcement to keep roads safe on July Fourth

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Texas Highway Patrol (THP) will be initiating two traffic safety campaigns during the holiday weekend looking for people violating traffic laws from Friday, July 1, through Monday, July 4.
Austin County assists task force with drug bust

On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at approximately 5 a.m., members of the Austin County Special Response Team (SRT) executed a search warrant and arrest warrants at the Prairie View Inn located at 21893 FM 1098, in Prairie View. The operation was the result of an ongoing narcotics investigation by the Westside (HIDTA) Narcotics Task Force.

In the June 16 edition of The Sealy News there was a photo of the Humdingers performing in Levine Park, and the Rotary Club wants to clarify that they only supported the event and want the Humdingers to get the credit for giving back to the community. There are no plans for future similar events at this time.
Work begins on the San Felipe East Lake project

The San Felipe Town Council is moving forward with plans for the East Lake recreational area project in conjunction with Webber Construction. Alderman Larry Gentry has been spearheading the plans and informed the council of changes and timelines during the meeting June 14.
