The Wallis City Council covered a lot of ground during their budget workshop Thursday, July 7. They spent the first hour working through all the city’s income line items, and then moved into expenditures and discussed potentially increasing the salaries of city employees.

Austin County Job Fair, July 20 Employers seeking help to fill open positions are invited to join the Sealy Chambers of Commerce Job Fair. The Job Fair will take place at Sealy American Legion Hall, 1630 Meyer St., Sealy TX 77474, from 2 p.m.

Please be advised that the City of Sealy Health Inspector has inspected the following establishments for food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and sanitary conditions: JULY 7 Wildcat Express, 6025 FM 3538: All items must be stored six inches off of the sales floor and walk-in cooler; cooked food needs to be disposed in a timely manner (4 hours). SCORE: 96 River Hills Seafood & Steak,6027 FM 3538: All items in the walk-in cooler need to be six inches off of the floor; Health Permit must be visible to the public.

The new festival grounds area, sewage system bids for the town hall, termite treatment and window repairs at the fire station, and potentially purchasing a rideon mower for the street department were among items discussed July 12 by the San Felipe Town Council.
