Suspect still at large after escaping custody at Bellville hospital

It is unknown if he is still in the Bellville area or not. There have been no reported sightings of him since the early evening of Friday, after the time of his escape. Please call the Austin County Sheriff’s Office at 979-865-3111 or 911, if you see him. We will update with information as we continue to search.
Multiple law enforcement agencies still out looking and will continue to do so. If and when new developments emerge, we will post the update.
Westside task force nabs three on drug charges

When the Westside Narcotics Task Force was formed in 2020, the main focus of the group was to work narcotics cases in the five-region county area. Last week, the Westside Narcotics Task Force (HIDTA) carried out a pair of operations which resulted in the arrests of three individuals who were allegedly working drug trafficking through the region.
Bellville woman accepts plea deal in intoxication manslaughter case

A Bellville woman chose a plea deal which resulted in her pleading guilty to intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault in connection with a fatal crash that occured two years ago.

Lane Hogan places seventh overall

Three Blinn College livestock judging teams placed in the top 10 at the recent Griswold Cattle Classic in Stillwater, Okla. Blinn teams placed third (2,189 points), fifth (2,172 points), and ninth (2,135 points).
