Sealy HS seniors fool entire town with fake H-E-B sign If you were to ask anyone living in Sealy what one establishment they would love to see finally come to town, nine times out of ten you’re going to hear a three-letter answer: H-E-B. Those dreams seemed to finally be coming true when a mysterious sign appeared on a plot of land last Wednesday, May 21 with a simple message across it: “H-E-B COMING SOON LATE 2025.” In a matter of minutes following a social media post questioning the sign, hundreds of people were sent into a frenzy, including the city of Sealy’s official Facebook page denouncing the claims, trying to figure out when the announcement was made, if there was any validity to it, when construction would begin and all the questions rushing to the minds of those confused.

Celebrating Older Americans Month: Flip the script on aging

Older Americans Month in May is a time to acknowledge the contributions older adults make every day. Across the nation, older adults make their mark as volunteers, employees, parents, grandparents, mentors and advocates. This year’s national theme for Older Americans Month is “Flip the Script on Aging,” which focuses on transforming how society perceives, talks about and approaches aging. Texans can honor the contributions of older adults by exploring the various ways to remain active and engaged to age and live well. This month can also be used to highlight the opportunities for purpose, exploration and connection that come with aging.

CCIA urges Texas lawmakers to reject HB 186 over contract, privacy, and free speech concerns

The bill would require social media platforms to verify that all users are at least 18 years old before allowing them to create an account, creating significant conflicts with Texas contract law and serious First Amendment concerns.
