City officials are getting ready to feel the brunt of residents’ anger as gas bills are starting to arrive with higher bills caused by usage during Winter Storm Uri in mid-February. In social media posts, Sealy residents are venting their frustrations over the city’s handling of the gas usage and now bills for that usage during the winter storm.

Texans aged 16 and older are now eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). As of the beginning of the week, DSHS had a record of 1,678 total confirmed cases in Austin County, 34 fatalities and an estimated 1,924 recovered cases.

Sealy opened its District 24-4A slate with a 15-5, run-rule win over Wharton at home last Tuesday and followed that up with a 9-4 win over Navasota on the road the following day.
