A vehicle filled with memories

Body
Several months back my old Ford Expedition, Betty, met an untimely demise when a deer ran out in front of her while my husband was driving. Betty was a reliable truck and the kids and I had racked up many miles of memories in her. However, she was no longer pretty and, much like me, had some parts that didn’t work as well as they used to. So, I was excited to go shopping for a new-to-me replacement vehicle.

A quick update as we end the school year

Body
We made it! Here is a quick update as we end the school year. I know the last few days have been difficult as we try and process the tragedy that occurred in Uvalde and reflect on safety in our schools. We will do everything we can to keep our schools as safe as possible. Every summer our School Safety Committee which consists of local law enforcement, staff, and parents meet to discuss all aspects of school safety. If you have areas that you would like for us to consider, rethink, or improve upon please send me an email and I promise we will look into those things as a committee.

For the love of sports

Body
I fell in love with sports as a kid while watching an electric figure by the name of Michael Jordan. His basketball skills, stardom, and sneakers made him a must-see whenever the Chicago Bulls would play. However, once I became old enough to play competitively, there was a fellow by the name of Tracy McGrady of the Houston Rockets who I grew to pattern my skills after.

Goodbye school, hello summer

Body
It’s the last week of school! We made it! It was questionable at times, but we are going to cross the finish line. No more themed dress-up days to remember, or rather to forget. No more assignment notebooks to sign (in crayon at this point in the school year). Best of all, no more math homework to check! No, as a matter of fact, I’m not smarter than a fourth grader. Bring on summer!

No such thing as an average student

Body
The end of the school year brings a lot of excitement to our students. For seniors it’s graduation, and for others it is summer break and all the fun things that come with it. The end of the school year also means state testing and, for some of our students and staff, testing means anxiety. Anxiety can come from the thought of “how I might perform compared to my peers” or “how my students might do compared to the class down the hall.”
