Ahead of the May 7 General Election, Wallis City Council candidates will make their points heard at a public forum hosted at the Columbus Hall (703 Columbus Road) April 19 at 6:30 p.m. The six candidates running for the three open spots will field questions and state their viewpoints for voters to determine who they want on council.

The Austin County Grand Jury returned indictments against 11 people in the March 30 session. Those indicted include: Quentin Anderson, obstruction or retaliation.

An arrest is not proof of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

During the April 5 regular meeting of the Sealy City Council, a public hearing was held regarding the proposed voluntary annexation to enlarge and extend the boundary limits of the City of Sealy to incorporate portions of Harrison Road that is situated in Austin County.
