A van stolen from Faith Academy in Bellville that was being used in a series of robberies in Montgomery County was recovered with the arrest of a female suspect. Akiya Micole McCracken, 20 of Houston, was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and evading arrest, detention with a vehicle.

A police chase that started in Austin County and ended in Colorado County resulted in the arrest of a suspect on numerous charges Derrick Wheaton, 45, was arrested and charged with abandon/ endanger child imminent danger, evading arrest/ detention with vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, reckless driving and tampering/fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair. Wheaton was also arrested on four active felony warrants out of Bexar County.

The Big Tex Backyard Ultra, held Nov. 2, at the beautiful Stephen F. Austin State Park, marked an exciting milestone as the first time Trail Racing Over Texas (TROT) has hosted a Backyard Ultra at a Texas State Park.
