Abbott signs strongest Bail reform package in Texas history

HOUSTON — Governor Greg Abbott signed into law the strongest bail reform package in Texas history at Crime Stoppers of Houston. Joined by dozens of bail reform advocates and families of victims, the Governor signed Senate Bill 9, Senate Bill 40, House Bill 75, and Senate Joint Resolution 5 to protect Texans by keeping violent, repeat offenders behind bars.

Abbott names Foster chair, appoints McCall to Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott appointed John A. McCall Jr., O.D. to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission for a term set to expire on Feb. 1, 2031. Additionally, the Governor named Paul Foster as chair of the Commission. The Commission manages and conserves the natural and cultural resources of Texas and provides hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation opportunities for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

Lone Star Symphonic Band celebrates Independence Day with Hearts of Gratitude

The Lone Star Symphonic Band concludes its 32nd Concert Season with a concert this June. All performances this season will take place at Holy Covenant United Methodist Church, located at 22111 Morton Road, Katy, Texas 77449. The concert performance will begin at 4 pm. Tickets to individual concerts are available at the cost of $11 each.

Fayetteville High School student graduating a year early – with her Blinn College degree in hand

At just 16 years old, Reagan Moreau is about to earn her Fayetteville High School diploma and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts from the Blinn College District — completing three years’ worth of education ahead of schedule. A standout at Fayetteville High School, Moreau will cross the stage at Blinn’s graduation ceremony on May 7 before accepting her high school diploma a full year early just two days later.
