Lady Tigers dominate opener

The Sealy Lady Tiger soccer squad won its districtopening contest in convincing fashion by a 10-0 score over the Hempstead Bobcats behind four goals from freshman Rebeca Garza. Sealy traveled to Hempstead last Friday evening to open play within District 20-4A and got a strong defensive effort from senior goalkeeper Hailey Arteaga to supplement the scoring efforts.

Tennis hits courts

The Sealy Tiger varsity tennis team competed in its first tournament of the season and came away with a consolation bracket winner as well as plenty of experience for a younger team. Head coach Joni Baxley said after last season got cut short at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, she was grateful to hit the courts once again.

Bring your sweetheart and stroll downtown Sealy for some sweet deals and decadent treats Feb. 6 between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Check in at the corner of Fowlkes and Main Street for a list of participants who will each provide a stamp for attendees to later be entered into a raffle for some amazing prizes. Legion Hall to host dance

The Lions Sealy Dance Club is having a dance on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021, at the Sealy American Legion Hall with Blue Denim providing the music from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Door prizes will be accepted, as well as memberships for the 2021 dance year. Support our Dance Club by joining up. Masks required to enter hall, temperatures will be checked. Guests are always welcome.

Spaghetti Fundraiser

The Wallis Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Queen of Angels #1538, will host their annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser by drive-thru only on Feb. 7, between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Columbus Club Hall on 703 Columbus Road in Wallis. Presale tickets are available by calling 281-346-1243 and the raffle drawing will be made at 1 p.m. All proceeds are donated towards college scholarships, High School Project Graduation, local fire departments, EMS, etc., and National and State CDA endorsed Charities and projects.
