BEATRICE MARIE “BEE” GRIGAR CARPENTER
Beatrice Marie “Bee” Grigar Carpenter, 75, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024, in Katy.
She was born April 7, 1949, in Rosenberg, the daughter of Alfred Anton, Jr. and Otillie “Tata” Virginia Hajdek Grigar. Bee grew up and attended schools in Sealy, graduating from Sealy High School in 1967. Shewasemployedasabookkeeper, and salesclerk for many years. Bee was united in marriage to Dwight Carpenter, on May 1, 1999, in Sealy. They made their home in Sealy, where she enjoyed many outdoor activities. As a young adult Bee and her family owned and worked quarter horses, and she spent countless hours doing equine related activities. Later, she spent her free time reading and doing crossword puzzles, dancing, and collecting frog memorabilia and crosses. Bee found joy tending to her garden, spending time with her family campingatthelakeorvisiting the coast, and she loved to brag about her grandchildren and great grandchildren to anyone who would listen.
Bee was well-known by so many for the years of dedication and hours she spent with her Relay for Life team, Save Our TaTa’s - a family team formed in the memory ofhermother,TaTa.
She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years: Dwight Carpenter of San Felipe; daughters: Cheryl Sedberry and her husband, David, of Hempstead, Gloria Tanner and her husband, Becket, of Wallis, and Kristi Flores and her husband, Alex, of San Felipe; grandchildren: Kristi Elizabeth Lang and her husband, Josh; Cody Howard and his wife, Emily; Andrew Barrett and his wife, Avery; EmilyNovosadandherhusband, Travis; Ashley Flores; HannahMikesandherhusband, Tyler; Megan Flores and her fiancé, Kincade McGrew; and Shay Tanner and her husband, Kane; sixteen greatgrandchildren;sisters: Chris Mickey and her husband, Larry, and Gloria Turnbull and her husband, Jim; nieces and nephews: Darrell Barrett, Heath Middleton, DeeDee Cordoba, Angie Hunter, and Tyler Turnbull; great nieces and nephews; and numerous other family and dear friends.
Bee was preceded in death by her parents: Alfred and Tata Grigar; brother: George Grigar; granddaughter: Lacey Tanner; and great grandson:WyattBarrett Honorary Pallbearers wereCodyHoward,Andrew Barrett, Tyler Mikes, Josh Lang, Travis Novosad, Kincade McGrew, Tyler Turnbull, andHeathMiddleton.
Beelovedgivingbackand supported many charitable organizations. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, A Memorial Service was held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Powerhouse Church in Katy with PastorAnthonyStewartofficiating.
