Pfuntners indicted by Wharton County grand jury

A husband-and-wife team that was arrested in February by Colorado County Sheriff’s authorities was indicted by a Wharton County grand jury last week. David Pfuntner and Victoria Pfuntner, former operators of Pfuntner Custom Homes, LLC were indicted on a first-degree felony charge after a multi-county investigation into alleged construction-related financial misconduct.

Head-on wreck claims teacher’s life

A second tragic action in less than a week has claimed the life of a well-known Austin County resident. Shirley Biehunko Hegemeyer, 55, of Cat Spring, was pronounced dead at the scene of a three-vehicle accident on FM 949, north of FM 1094 in Austin County.

New laws now in effect across Texas
