The opponent might still be a mystery but the goal is still the same for the Sealy Lady Tigers. Sealy knows they are set to play a bi-district round game against a Houston ISD school and early indication says it will be against Booker T.
Sealy boys soccer ready for ‘third season’ starting Friday For Sealy Head Boys Soccer Coach Josh Kirton, it’s time for the Tigers “put words into action.” Sealy will play host to the bi-district round of the soccer playoffs Friday when the Tigers take on Houston Scarborough at T.J. Mills Stadium.
The Brazos Cougars moved to 2-1 in District 24-3A baseball play after Wednesday’s 7-4 win over East Bernard. The Cougars used strong pitching and some timely hitting to claim the win over the Brahmas in a game that was originally scheduled for Friday but moved up because of Spring break.
Coming into this season, Brazos Powerlifting Coach Lawson Harwick believed his team was ready to leave a mark at the state meet this year. “I believe the team will build on their success from last year to have another good year,” Hartwick said at the beginning of the season.
Led by the pitching of Ethan Doyle, the Sealy Tigers pushed their District 25-4A season off to a strong start with a 9-0 beating of Bellville Tuesday night. Doyle was masterful on the mound in going seven innings and allowing only four hits while striking out eight batters.
Sealy used a big fifth inning to send the Lady Tigers to a split of district contests during Spring break. Sealy now sits at 2-2 in district play, 9-11 overall.
Despite dropping its final two district matches, the Sealy boys’ soccer team is prime and ready to make a run as the playoffs are scheduled to begin in one week. Right now, Sealy is in third place in district and finished in third place in District 20-4A.
