Brahmnettes fall in bi-district

The Bellville Brahmanette basketball team secured the fourth seed from District 24-4A with a 4-6 record but could not get past the District 23 champion Kashmere Fighting Rams in the bi-district round of the playoffs last week and fell by a 62-49 final score.

When Sealy senior Nick Martinez hit the game-winning shot to beat El Campo in overtime, 60-57, it secured the third home win for the Tigers in as many chances last Friday night after both soccer teams registered 1-0 wins over Navasota to collect a Sealy sweep.

Senior Saenz sinks winning goal

Tiger strength wins Weimar

The Sealy Tiger powerlifting teams both took first place from the Weimar Meet last Monday, Feb. 1 where eight lifters won their class and 11 more earned podium finishes after executing squat, bench press and deadlift exercises.

Lady Knights split

The Faith Academy Lady Knight basketball squad split their two away games last week and fell to Fayetteville 68-18 but bounced back to beat Houston Adventist 26-8. In the first game of the week last Tuesday, Faith Academy head girls basketball coach Terri Tomlinson said the team started slow but battled to the end.

Tiger golf team takes 10th

The Sealy Tiger golf team traveled to the Sugar Creek Country Club to compete at the Strake Jesuit Tournament earlier this week on Monday and came away with a top-10 team finish behind three golfers who broke 90.

Reyes lifts Sealy Tiger soccer team

Carlos Reyes’ game-winning goal lifted the Sealy Tiger soccer team last Friday and secured the second of three home wins for the black and gold in as many chances that night. It was the first goal of the district season for Reyes.
