Bellville earns bragging rights

Coming into Friday’s County showdown with Bellville, Sealy Head Football Coach Shane Mobley knew his Tigers would be in for a fight with the state-ranked Brahmas. For this year, the bragging rights may go to Bellville, but Mobley knows the fight his Tigers showed in the game will pay dividends later this season.

Brazos girls take second, boys finish third

The Brazos girls came away with a secondplace finish at the District 24-3A meet held last Wednesday at the Brazos High School campus. Brazos girls finished second with 33 points to East Bernard’s 27 points while the Brazos boys finished in third place at the district meet behind East Bernard and Boling.

Tidehaven turns back Brazos 33-13

Coming into last Friday’s contest, Tidehaven Head Football Coach David Lucio called the Brazos Cougars “legit” this year. When the smoke cleared on Tidehaven’s 33-13 win over the Cougars, his opinion has not changed one bit.

Faith hosts annual meet

Faith Academy hosted its 5th Annual XC Meet on Oct. 15 with 25 schools attending the meet which was held on the school’s campus. The course is located at the back of the school where there is plenty of space to lay out the 5K and 2-mile courses.

Sealy posts win over Royal, Needville in volleyball

Sealy moved to 4-2 in District 25-4A play after posting a pair of wins over Needville and Brookshire Royal last week. On Friday, Sealy swept past Royal 25-8, 25-6 and 25-13 as the Lady Tigers thoroughly dominated the contest from start to finish.

Sealy takes home firsts at District

For the third year in a row, Sealy’s girls cross country team captured first place at the District 24-5-A meet while the boys brought home the district title for the second year in a row. “This is a three-peat for the girls and the guys have now gone backto- back so I was super proud of the effort,” said Sealy Cross Country Head Coach Anthony Branch.

Faith Academy B team claims title

Faith Academy Bellville hosted their annual Junior High Volleyball Invitational this past weekend with eight visiting teams. Both Lady Knights JH A and B teams had great showings. The Faith Academy B team went undefeated the entire day which earned them the championship in the B division. Faith Academy A team also played great volleyball going undefeated through Pool Play but fell to Calvary Baptist Conroe in the championship match. The A team walked away with a well- deserved second place finish.
