Sealy Lady Tigers soccer take aim at finishing strong With the first round of district play behind them, the Sealy Lady Tigers are sitting firmly in second place in district with a 3-1 record but they have their eyes set on that firstplace finish. While the team has played well at times this year, Sealy Head Girls Soccer Coach Sydney Jones knows her Lady Tigers can play at a higher level and need to start getting their play going as district nears a close and playoffs loom ahead.

Sealy slams La Marque 56-13 to secure playoff berth Scoring more than 50 points for the third straight game, Sealy prepped for the Class 4A playoffs with an easy 56-13 victory over La Marque to clinch the third place seed out of District 10-4A. “I was so proud of the boys and I didn’t expect the outcome to turn out as it did,” said Sealy Head Football Coach Shane Mobley.

Davenport ends Lady Tigers’ volleyball season

The Sealy Lady Tigers volleyball season came to end Friday in Flatonia at the hands of Davenport (36-5) in the area round of the Class 3A playoffs. Davenport swept Sealy 25-15, 25-15 and 25-15 to eliminate the Lady Tigers from the post-season. Sealy finished its season at 26-16. Davenport came into the contest highly regarded after posting an undefeated 12-0 record in District 27-4A and had swept Gonzales in the bi-district round of the playoffs. Sealy had advanced the area round of the playoffs after sweeping Brazosport (9-12) in the bi-district round last Tuesday. The Lady Tigers defeated Brazosport 25-10, 25-14 and 25-22 to advance to the area round of the playoffs.

Faith Academy Lady Knights lay claim to first state championship

After a season plagued by injuries, the Lady Knights headed to San Antonio for the TAIAO State Championships. “Knowing we would be playing without one our senior offensive leaders, we knew we had to really pull together as a team and stay positive and focus on our game plan,” said Faith Academy Head Volleyball Coach Neil Hammack.
