It’s no secret people under a certain age (I’m going to put it as high as 50) throw around the word “like” as if they lived in mid-1980’s Beverly Hills. “Like” gets used as much as the word “the,” functioning as the filler word of many non-Californians’ daily lingo.

Every legislative session, the Texas Legislature considers a variety of topics. Over the next few months, I will break down the 87th Legislative Session into segments and provide a summary of each segment so you may get a better understanding of what we accomplished.

As the summer months begin, I would like to share a few of the past month’s highlights. Two new councilmembers, Yvonne Johnson and Edward Zapalac, were welcomed and best wishes were extended to outgoing members Jennifer Sullivan and Larry Koy for their dedication and service.
