Old Jasper Blankenship went out to hunt deer the other day, the same way he’s done for decades now. He’s slower than he used to be, of course. Deer season has changed a lot for Jasper over the many years he’s been at it. As a kid, he couldn’t wait until he was old enough to get a license, because he wanted to bring a buck home to show his family. Not just any buck, either, but a big one.

Abbott appoints Guerra, Shah to Chronic Kidney Disease Task Force

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed John Guerra, D.O. and Shweta Shah, M.D. to the Chronic Kidney Disease Task Force for terms set to expire at the pleasure of the Governor. The Task Force coordinates implementation of the state’s plan for prevention, early screening, diagnosis, and management of chronic kidney disease and educates health care professionals.
