Thirsty Thursday Feb. 15

The Thirsty Thursday Networking event will be held at State Farm Virginia Gilbert’s office 4:30-6 p.m.

This event is free to attend, and no RSVP is needed. All are welcome.

Historical Society to meet Feb. 15

The Sealy Area Historical Society is holding a meeting on Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. at the museum located at 211 East Main Street. The public is invited to hear Charlie Wade speak about the old Sealy Broom Factory and Broomtown founded by the Engelking family.

What’s going on in Wallis: City holds follow-up townhall, talks MIT grant and drainage

Another town hall meeting was held last Monday, Jan. 29 to address concerns over drainage within the city and the MIT grant.

This comes after an initial emergency town hall was held Wednesday, Jan. 24 to discuss allegations of racketeering made by a Wallis property owner, where discussions over the city’s plan to handle drainage and the MIT grant were also brought up.
