AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) hosted the 2026 Inspiring Women Leaders (IWL) Conference at the Hilton Palacio del Rio in San Antonio, from April 14–16, 2026. This conference brought together 440 women from the law enforcement community from 10 states and 20 agencies for three days of professional development, collaboration and empowerment.

Michael Sanders was recently chosen as the new vice president for enrollment management for Texas A&M University-Victoria. Sanders is coming to Victoria’s university from the University of North Texas in Denton, where he was serving as associate vice president of enrollment.

First Baptist Church Sealy’s pastor Terry Wright shared the church’s deep roots and community connections in Sealy following its 150th anniversary celebration earlier this month. Founded in 1876 in San Felipe, First Baptist Church Sealy (FBC Sealy) moved to Front Street in Sealy two years later and has since grown to be the largest Baptist church in the area both in facilities and membership.
